ISKCON Kanpur Temple
ISKCON Kanpur Temple, formally known as Sri Sri Radha Madhava Mandir, is a major spiritual and cultural landmark operated by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It serves as a vibrant center for devotional practices, education, and community outreach dedicated to Lord Krishna and Srimati Radharani.The temple promotes bhakti-yoga—the path of loving devotional service—following the teachings of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, ISKCON’s founder. It regularly conducts Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam discourses, congregational kirtans, and major festivals such as Janmashtami, Radhashtami, and Govardhan Puja. Sunday feasts, youth outreach, and charitable initiatives like Food for Life and cow protection (Goshala) are key community programs. Located near the banks of the Ganges River, the expansive temple complex spans over twelve acres. It houses ornate marble deities of Sri Sri Radha Madhava, a Vedic ashram, seminar halls, courtyards, and the vegetarian Govinda’s restaurant. Facilities include a guest house within the premises, offering modern amenities in a peaceful spiritual environment. The temple gift shop features devotional books and souvenirs.
